Developing a Digital Twin framework
University of Strathclyde x Skyrora & Ben Cochrane
This project, conducted in collaboration between the University of Strathclyde and Skyrora Ltd, will focus on developing a Digital Twin framework to advance testing and performance optimisation for rocket engine propulsion systems.
The research aims to create a scalable digital platform integrating real-time sensor streams, control system feedback, and historical test data across Skyrora’s 70 kN and 400 kN engines. Advanced modelling, simulation, and AI techniques will be applied to deliver predictive diagnostics, test automation, and enhanced situational awareness, ultimately improving test efficiency and system reliability for future vehicle, and stage, level qualification campaigns.
